Polyanthus flowers in the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, 18th June, 2010. I discovered my forty-quid camera from Asda has a macro function on it, and decided to try it out. This is hardly a brilliant photo, but the macro evidently does work.

Polyanthus flowers in the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, 18th June, 2010. Again, trying out the macro-function on my wee camera. I've never seen polyanthus flowers in that intense orangey-red before.

View from Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh, towards the Balmoral Hotel and the old GPO building at 11.30pm on 18th June, 2010. It doesn't really get dark on a clear night this far north in mid-summer. I took the photo by balancing the camera on top of a litter-bin.
