A fabulous day in Dundee

A north-eastward view on 20th February, 2018, towards the new hotel and entrance to Dundee Station which are presently under construction. This building owes nothing to the very characteristic traditional architecture of Dundee, but almost anything would be an improvement on the hideous edifice which previously greeted passengers at Dundee, which could easily have been mistaken for an MI5 interrogation block.


Awaiting its next duty in the sidings adjacent to Dundee Station on 20th February, 2018, was one of the short-formation High Speed Trains which are soon to be introduced on Scottish inter-city routes, and which are presently being used on driver-training turns.


Forming train 1T20, the 11.42 Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street, Adtranz Class 170 3-car DMU No. 170 426 takes the Perth line as it approaches the Seabraes Footbridge on 20th February, 2018. The working terminated at Perth due to a signal failure at Greenhill.
