The view from the bridge

A view up the Firth of Forth towards the Forth Road Bridge from a northbound train crossing the Forth Bridge on 5th June, 2010.

Houses at North Queensferry and a tanker at Hound Point oil terminal snapped from a southbound train crossing the Forth Bridge on 5th June, 2010, following a visit to Kirkcaldy. I saw this view many hundreds of times (sometimes eight times-a-day) when I was a train-driver, but I never had the opportunity to photograph it. Moments later the sky darkened, and it started bucketing down shortly after I got back to Edinburgh.
