Peebles

Photos taken on a beautiful day in Peebles, which is surely one of Scotland's most beautiful towns.

I saw masses of these bright orange flowers, which look very much like dandelions and have dandelion-shaped leaves, in several gardens in Peebles on 3rd June, 2011. They aren't mutant dandelions, but orange hawkweed, a wild plant.

Peebles Parish Church at the west end of the High Street, 3rd June, 2011. Yes, I know you shouldn't attempt to take photos into the light unless you want predictably-crap results like this!

One of the very ornate lamp-standards on the Tweed Bridge at Peebles, 3rd June, 2011. I thought the Tweed would be noted for trout or perhaps salmon, but I'm not sure that the creature wrapped around the base is either of those!
