Chessel's Court

Chessel's Court, a grand old mansion that stands behind the tenements facing the Canongate and St. Mary's Street in Edinburgh's Old Town. I took a short-cut between these streets on 28th April, 2010, and discovered this lovely building which stands directly behind my own flat, but which I'd never previously noticed in the seven years that I've lived here.
