Pleased with my work

A couple of photos of the living-room of my flat at 60, Albion Road, Edinburgh, with decorating almost complete and a new indigo carpet laid. The decorating was dirty, hard and tedious work, but I felt I'd wrought a huge improvement on the place and was very satisfied with the result. This was borne out by the fact that I sold the flat in 2003, four years after I'd bought it, for twice as much as I'd paid for it. Unfortunately, I had to leave my job and so was unable to take the next step on the property-ladder.

I miss the enjoyment and therapeutic satisfaction of transforming my living-space and imprinting my style upon it. This is one reason why I think it would be good thing for me to move house again before too long. There seems no reason to decorate a house which isn't my own and which I always felt I was going to occupy only temporarily.
