Hopetoun House

A series of photos I took at Hopetoun House, a huge mansion near South Queensferry, West Lothian, mainly for the Interior component of an Architectural Photography assignment for my college course. I thought it would be an excellent location for the assignment, but in fact it proved to be pretty unsuitable and I found it impossible to get satisfactory photos. If some of them look excessively dull or out-of-focus, it's because they are. There was insufficient light, we weren't allowed to use flash, and in the space available I was unable to compose my photos in a pleasing way. To make matters worse, the caretaker followed me and my classmate Jo around from room to room, and I felt rushed and hassled. We were only there for about an hour-and-a-half, but I was feeling thoroughly stressed and had already given up hope of getting any suitable photos by the time we left.
