Day-trip to St. Andrews

What a lovely, beautiful, fabulous day it was this morning. Sadly, I managed to waste half of the day by trundling all the way to college and back when I had no classes to attend. Idiot! So I decided a trip to the beach was in order, or perhaps a visit to the Beveridge Park for a spot of sunbathing. I couldn't be bothered walking all the way to the middle of George Street to get a slow, bone-shaking bus to Kirkcaldy, so I decided to head down to Waverley Station and put the train fare (almost a tenner) on my credit-card instead.

The western concourse of Waverley Station viewed from the ticket barrier on 17th May, 2013. With its newly-reglazed overall roof, freshly-painted ironwork and in the lovely sunny weather, the station probably looks better now than it has ever done since it was built.

It had been a beautiful sunny day in Edinburgh, but by the time I got to Kirkcaldy, the weather looked like this. Very little need for the sunglasses I'd planned to buy for the sunbathing I'd planned to do in the Beveridge Park. Just as well, because the cheapest pair I could find in Boots were £25: well beyond my price-range! So I decided to continue my travels, and took a bus via the scenic route to St. Andrews.
