Inverness Station


BR 0-6-0DE shunter (Class 08) No. 08 788 at Inverness station, Inverness-shire, 24th June, 2003. On that day, I made use of my free rail travel pass to do a round trip by train from Edinburgh to Inverness, from there to Aberdeen, and from Aberdeen back to Edinburgh. It was a long but enjoyable day doing one of my favourite things. At Inverness Station, I took this photo of an old diesel shunting locomotive; a once very ubiquitous but now much rarer sight.
